In our little store, there’s a surprisingly big selection of the very best artisanal cheese from California and around the world, along with many other fine foods we’ve discovered on our travels.

You’ll find us just off Sonoma Plaza, and you’ll find us friendly, too. Here in Sonoma, we tend to live to eat, rather than the other way round, and what we offer to you is what we enjoy most ourselves.So read on for brief descriptions of today’s favorites, or better still, stop by for a leisurely taste.

And remember what my father says. “Eat well, eat slowly, but above all, eat cheese!”

About us:

The Cheesemaker's Daughter is situated just one-half block off Sonoma Plaza in downtown Sonoma, Calif. Proprietress Ditty Vella, the store's namesake, grew up in the award-winning Vella Cheese Company family. Although Ditty’s roots are in American cheeses, the shop offers a wonderful variety of fine European artisanal cheeses as well. It’s a small specialty foods store that’s big on friendly, relaxed service. Ditty adds her own unique sense of style and is generous with advice on any of the cheeses or other fine foods in the store. Make a point to stop by when you’re in town for an insider’s savvy on the local scene—food or otherwise.
